Jacob Halpern

Jake is a senior from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, majoring in nuclear engineering with a minor in physics.
Outside of Mortar Board, Jake is the director of Member Development for the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation, an organization which promotes outreach to prospective engineering students by giving facility tours and helping out during visit days throughout the semester. He is also involved in the Purdue Student Engineering Foundation on the Marketing and Communications committee, American Nuclear Society, and the Engineering Dean’s Leadership Scholars. He has been an undergraduate researcher at the Bioelectrics and Electrophysics (BEEP) Laboratory at Purdue since for over three years and has also been a TA for NUCL 200 - Introduction to Nuclear Engineering.
After graduation, Jake plans to attend a PhD program to focus on his research interests in plasma physics and eventually find a career as a research scientist.
