Kayla Neal

Kayla is a senior from South Bend, IN pursuing her B.A. in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology. Outside of her participation in the Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board, she is also a member of the Eta Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi and previously served as the organization’s Treasurer. Kayla previously served as Co-chair and most recently as Executive Board Member for the College of Education on the Honors Leadership Council. She is currently a member of Purdue’s Black Student Union, and in the past she served within the BSU’s Education Committee. This year she is serving as an undergraduate research assistant in the Counseling Psychology Department within the College of Education in a lab that works to use community-focused advocacy to support equity. Kayla is also a substitute teacher for the Lafayette School Corporation. In the future, Kayla hopes to become an elementary classroom teacher and pursue higher education within the field of education.
