Ginger
Thompson
Ginger Thompson is a managing editor at ProPublica, after 15 years at The New York Times. She is on the Pulitzer board ad has won a Pulitzer Prize, the Maria Moors Cabot Prize, and an Overseas Press Club Award, among others.
Ginger was a managing editor of the Purdue Exponent and is a 1985 Mortar Board initiate and a 1986 Purdue graduate. She holds a master of public policy with a focus on human rights law from George Washington University.

Mark
Schoeff, Jr.
Mark Schoeff, Jr. is a reporter at CQ Roll Call in Washington, D.C. In February, he was inaugurated as the National Press Club president. He previously was a reporter at InvestmentNews, a spokesman for the Center for Strategic and International Studies, and press secretary for U.S. Senator Richard Luga of Indiana.
Mark was campus and region/world editor of the Purdue Exponent and is a 1990 Mortar Board initiate and 1991 Purdue graduate. He earned his master's from George Mason University.
Alumni Baseball Game with the Barbara Cook Chapter

Locally, the chapter will be hosting an alumni night on April 14 to watch Purdue Baseball! If you are local or can take a trek over to West Lafayette, we invite you to accept our invitation to join current Mortar Boarders at Alexander Field to watch the Boilermakers play Miami Ohio. It is also trivia night, and there will be $3 beer, hot dogs, and popcorn!
Virtual Alumni Networking Hour
On April 1, the second virtual networking event will be held by the alumni celebration committee at 7:30 PM EST. If you were unable to attend the February event, we hope you can join fellow alumni to catch up, share successes, and hear about what the Barbara Cook Chapter is up to as we transition into the 2026-2027 academic year.
